Hi, I’m Matthew

I’m a book indexer and developmental editor.

My academic background is in visual culture, performance studies, and music theory/musicology. A background in User Experience (UX) design and research gives an emphasis on usability to my work.

Bringing the eye of a curious, well-informed reader to the texts I works on, my clients have published with the University of Chicago Press, Duke University Press, McGill-Queen's University Press, University of Michigan Press, MIT Press, and University of Toronto Press among others.

When not editing or indexing, you’ll find me preserving seasonal food from local farms, singing shapenote music, and writing and playing music.
